Officials
of the National Bureau Of Investigation (NBI) announced yesterday
the surrender of another suspect in the kidnap-murder case
of University of Santo Tomas student Mark Welson Chua last
year.
NBI
director Reynaldo Wycoco said Arnulfo Aparri, 20, also a UST
student and fellow ROTC cadet, surrendered to the the NBI
over the weekend after meeting with Army Major Emmanuel Sison.
Aparri
was accompanied by his lawyer Abner Roxas who told Wycoco
that his client is innocent. Witnesses had claimed that Aparri
was one of those who tossed the victim into the Pasig River.
The
other suspects in the Chua slay case, Wycoco said, were Michael
Von Manangbao, Eduardo Tabrilla and Paul Joseph Tan.
Manangbao
had already left the country while Tabrilla and Tan are still
in hiding.
Wycoco
said extradition proceedings are now ongoing for the return
of the young Manangbao while a massive manhunt was launched
against the other suspects.
