A
tragic event at the University of Santo Tomas ROTC unit
in March 2001 sparked an outcry against ROTC that brought
about what is arguably the biggest change in post-Martial
Law ROTC history.
It
is also noteworthy, that school-based, military education
actually started in
UST -- almost 140 years ago.
Under
interrogation by their commanders are . . . Major
Demy Terajes, whose names reportedly appeared
on a master list contained in a diskette recovered
by the military in Oakwood after the 22-hour stand-off.
Tejares
gained notoriety when he was implicated in the
abduction and murder of a University of Santo
Tomas student, Mark Welson Chua, on March 18,
2001.
