Rogelio
Buendia became the first Ateneo Advance ROTC
officer to join the Philippine Navy Marines. He
was later integrated in the PMA class of 1977.

The
Ateneo de Davao was officially granted University
status. The inauguration ceremony followed three
months later on December 8, 1977. The AdD-ROTCU
thus became the AdDU-ROTCU. Back

The
ROTC building,
a three room single storey structure that had
been the home of the Ateneo ROTC for 22 years
was destroyed to make way for the construction
of the Weiman building. The unit transferred to
Jacinto Campus covered court. Back

Long
time affiliate unit, Holy
Cross of Davao College ROTC, was activated
by virtue of General Order No. 1193, GHQ, AFP.
The order took effect in School Year 1984 - 1985.

Team was organized. This is believed to be

Ateneo de Davao Women's Auxiliary Training Corps
(WATC) accepts its first cadettes : Mary Jane
Patino for Basic WATC and Glonemar B Azarcon for

Officer's Sash. The sash was made of tinalak,
and was designed by the commandant : 1LT Onesimo

booth making contest during the feast of the Immaculate
Conception. The booth won 2nd Place in the competition;

: "Talaan ng Kawal" was started. This
is the first project dedicated to gathering records

Haidee
C Lim became the first Basic WATC graduate
of the Ateneo WATC. She also later became the
first woman to hold the positions of Corps Adjutant
and S1 (Personnel Officer). Back

Ateneo
de Davao College of Arts and Sciences adopted
a new unit allocation system for its subjects.
Physical Education was assigned two (2) units.
WATC, which was offered as an alternative to PE,
was pegged by DECS regulations at 1.5 units. This
was widely regarded as a major blow to the WATC

The
unit name reverted to the AdDU Reserve Officer's
Training Corps by virtue of Republic Act 7077.
The change took effect in School Year 1992 - 1993.
