ROTC tops regl inspection

The
900- strong cadets of Central Philippine University
ROTC Unit was adjudged regional champion in a recent
Annual Tactical Inspection conducted by the 6th Regional
Community Defense Group led by Col. Gabriel M. Ledesma.
This was learned from Capt. Bart Hudierez, Operations
officer, who furnished Link a copy of the result.
The
Unit ranked number one in all phases of inspection
with a total rating of 93.96%. It obtained highest
rating in NCO - 99.12%; Commandant - 98.95; Unit Administration-98.5%;
Field Test-96.33%; Military Stakes- 94.71%.
For
topping the regional inspection, CPU ROTC Unit represented
Western Visayas in the National Tactical Inspection
conducted by the National Headquarters, Reserve Command,
Philippine Army, Metro Manila on February 20. and
placed third nationwide. Last year, CPU also represented
Region 6 in the national competition and ranked fourth.
It
will be recalled that CPU ROTC Unit is a record holder
for topping twice the National Tactical Inspection
of the defunct ARESCOM (SY 1978-79; 1980-81). For
nine times, CPU Unit placed first in the whole Visayas
Annual Tactical Test and Evaluation (SY 1958-59; 60-61;62-66;68-69;77-78;80-81).
CPU
Unit is headed by Cdt. Brigade Commander Ismael Sumagaysay
(BSSW 3) under the newly designated Commandant Capt.
Virgilio B. Casio, (FA) PA. The other ROTC officers
are Cdt. Batallion Commanders Philip Ines and Joseph
Calibang; Cdt. Company Commanders Nesty Lingaya, William
Garcia, Dionio, and Demosthenes Endriga.
Assisting
Capt. Casio in discharging administrative functions
are the following PA officers: Capt. Bart T. Hudierez
(RES),operations officer; 1 Lt. Mar U Grino, Jr. (RES),
assistant commandant; TSgt. Arnold V. Catamin (INF),
admin NCO; Sgt. Ceasar M. Baldoza (INF), training
officer; MSgt. Dick T. Hudierez (RES) and MSgt. Rod
O. Molina (RES), tactical officers.
