ROTC Unit tops regional inspection

The CPU ROTC Unit topped the Regional Administrative Tactical Inspection conducted in January by the team headed by Col. Mascara T. Domaub. The other officers were LTC Alfredo Fama, Major Fernando Moralidad, Capt. Carlito Radones, Capt. John Fred Andres, 1Lt. Roland Barredo, 1 Lt. Wilfredo Javellonar, and Master Sgt. Roberto Hisanan.

Unmatched by any other ROTC units in the region, CPU has retained the title for four consecutive years now. It garnered 95.6 points in the recent regional inspection. The University of San Agustin placed second with 95.2 points.

The CPU ROTC Unit is headed by Cdt. Col. Jodymar A. Mendez, Corps Commander. It is under the command of Maj. Teddy T. Tan (INF) PA, and 1 Lt. June L. Edrosolano (INF) PA, Commandant and Assistant Commandant, respectively. Capt.Bart T. Hudierez (Res) PA continues to serve as Operations Officer.

Earlier the Unit honored Engr. Benito T. Jimena, treasurer of the CPU Alumni Association Inc., who was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Review and Presentation of Sponsors. A bank manager of Banco Filipino, Engr. Jimena is also the president of the Rotary Club of Iloilo, R.I. District 3850.

This year’s Corps Sponsor is Jerelyn Joy G. Catadman of the College of Commerce. The other sponsors corresponding their college and designation are as follows: Jeanette R. Castillo, Commerece, Vice Corps; Lenneth P. Pulmones, Commerce, Bn Adj/SI; Cheryl Mojica, Education, Bn S2; Maria Theresa A. Gavierez, Education, Bn S4; Mireya Nilla Therese S. Prieto, Arts & Sciences, "A" Company; Sheila Mae G. de la Torre, Education. "B" Company; Gay Angelette L. Frondoza, Arts & Sciences, "C" Company; and Rachel T. Galon, Education, "D" Company. Ms. Leilani Fatimah Trompeta, serves as the Corps of Sponsors adviser.
