Silliman ROTC honored

The Silliman ROTC unit and an army reservist were given recognition by Dumaguete City Council yesterday during its regular session at City Hall.
Two resolutions were approved recognizing and congratulating Silliman University for winning the Armed Forces of the Philippines 2004 Education Institution of the Year Award in ROTC instructions.
Cleonico Fontelo, vice president for finance, who represented Silliman University, received the award in behalf of SU president Agustin Pulido.
Another resolution was addressed to Master Sergeant Reu Ismil, army reservist, for having been adjudged as the Most Outstanding Armed Forces of the Philippines 2004 Enlisted Reservist of the year.
Fontelo said the awards and the recognition will further inspire the ROTC unit of Silliman to always be on top. Ismil assured members of the city council that he will always be loyal to the country and the AFP.
