Silliman
Cadette in Nation's Top Ten
SU
NetNEWS Volume V No. 9
Thursday, March 04, 1999
C/Capt.
Ami Kristine Antony of the Silliman ROTC Unit has
been chosen one of the Ten Outstanding Philippine
Army Cadets. This was after the interview conducted
on February 15 and 16 at Camp Riego de Dios, Tanza,
Cavite. The nation's top ten cadets will be awarded
by President Joseph Estrada in ceremonies on March
22 during the Armed Forces of the Philippines Day
Celebration in Manila.
Antony
has been a consistent achiever since high school when
she served as corps commander of the Citizen's Army
Training Unit of St. Louis School-Don Bosco. She was
recommended by Maj. Delfin Fernandez, commandant of
the Silliman ROTC. Women in ROTC service like Antony
serve as volunteers. Only male students are required
to undergo training. The awardee is now a graduating
Mass Communication student.
