The
Visayan Maritime Academy Naval ROTC recently topped
the regional tactical inspection conducted by the
Headquarters Naval Reserved Center in Western Visayas,
a press release from VMA said.
Commander
Godfrey Alonday, regional chairman of NROTC inspection
team said the VMA earned the title to represent Western
Visayas in the National Tactical Inspection slated
next week.
VMA
bested other NROTC units based in colleges and universities
in Panay and Negros Occidental in the regional tactical
inspection, the press release said.
The
corps of VMA midshipmen and midshipwomen excelled
in ceremonial parade, inspection in ranks, close order
drill, military stakes, first aid and weapons disassembly
and assembly, it added.
Elizabeth
Salabas, VMA president, cited the all-out support
extended by the administration, faculty and staff
of VMA that motivated the cadets to become champion.
