Mr Ferido was a rank and file cadet during his Basic ROTC course, and only joined the Officer Corps when he signed up for Advance ROTC.

He is currently assigned with the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), Philippine Army based in Zamboanga peninsula particularly the 3SFBn(A).

He is a graduate of the following courses:

Scout Ranger Orientation Course; Platoon Leaders Course; Infantry Officers Basic Course, Special Forces Operations Course, Military Scuba Diving Course, and the Basic Airborne Course
