| Significant
Events |
In
a never to be repeated event, Wilfredo
Grandeza, Corps Commander, was awarded
by the Army Reserve Command with medals
for Duty, Loyalty, and Service, during
the university's 23rd Commencement Exercises.
The
awarding occurred after the usual academic
recognitions were given out, in the presence
of the whole Class of 1979. This practice
was not repeated as it drew criticism
from certain quarters of the university.
