| Presiding
Officer Mangubat called on the alumni present to
introduce themselves by class before discussing
the agenda for the meeting, himself expressing satisfaction
over the number of alumni present as compared to
the July 2001 meeting |
Class
introduction done |
| Mr.
Heyres thereafter suggested to the body that they
should lay down their expectations as regards the
meeting, stating that the process would enable a
"meeting of the minds" among those present
as well as lay down the possible parameters for
the discussion proper. |
Body
stated expectations as suggested by Mr. Heyres |
|
Mr.
Mangubat thereafter laid down the objectives of
the meeting based on the premise of the ADROTH
(ADDU ROTC History Research Project), in turn
acknowledging Mr. Algones for his initiative to
put the ADDU ROTC Alumni Registry in the Internet
way back in 1998.
Mr.
Mangubat, with the concurrence of the body, laid
down the objectives as follows:
- To
"spread the word" about the organization
and encourage the existing officers to be more
accomodating of alumni.
-
To create a system for accepting information
about the organization through any of the following
means:· through the ADROTH Project (web-based),
Alumni Office Database, and direct to the office.
- Discussed
the need to create a five-year plan for organizing
the alumni, in time for the 50th anniversay
of the Ateneo de Davao ROTC unit.
- The
creation of a CODE OF CONDUCT for the ADDU ROTC
Alumni.
The
latter motion advocated a non-invasive stance
for alumni. Mr. Muga echoed this sentiment when
he paraphrased the often used line "wait
until you become", with "we already
became".
|
One contact person for each of the batches present
was appointed.
It
was resolved that communication would be encouraged
among members.
Each
batch would be responsible for drafting its list
of members. Copies of which would be maintained
in electronic and hard form.
Submission
of pictures to the ADROTH Project was encouraged.
A
meeting with the current Corps of Officers would
be set on January 2. The task of extending the
invitation was given to Mr. Algones.
Code
of Conduct for Alumni would be drafted after additional
research.
|
| Mr.
Muga and Mr. Aznar opened the matter of a name for
the organization. They pointed out the difficulty
of inviting other alumni to the organization when
such a basic matter as a name had not been settled.
|
The
body resolved that the name "KAWAL ATENISTA",
be used as the interim name of the body. |
|

of the unit.

was also proposed that a Grand Alumni Homecoming
be conducted in 2005.
|

Loria proposed that a Mission Statement be formulated
by the body. Mr. Mangubat suggested the following:

for the betterment of the Corps"
|
The

|
